I just noticed the reason why Simon dropped that gun near to Carl because Negan never thought a child would hold a gun and shoot. Simon intentionally did it since he already didn't like Negan to be the leader of the Saviors he is just waiting for the signal for someone from Rick's team to do it but failed due to their felt terror and tension. 😅

Been re-watching TWD and I re-read this part of the comics just to compare and yeah, I must admit Negan swearing less in the show makes him a far better character. Plus Bear McCreary fucking NAILED the music here - it’s the perfect amount of unsettling and tension ramping.

Honestly, Negan in the TV series is way more "likeable" than his comic counter part. He still has that dark humour and still does the same stuff, but JDM put some feeling into him, like when he apologises to maggie (even though he is killing her husband). Him being calm is way more menacing than the man-child that we have in the comics

On my own perspective, Rick got feared not because of Negan and his group but because of himself, he got realised that he became what he doesn’t wanted to be just like what Dr. Jenner said to him before! Negan + Governor + Shane = Rick Grimes (a decent and quiet villain)

Tbh i think them toning down the cursing a little really helped. it made Negan seem more in control, and like he knows what hes doing even if he might not
